You have a tnsnames.ora file problem.

I expect that you have multiple Oracle homes - please confirm by replying with the number of Oracle Homes in your 'register'.

Make sure that each 'home' has a functioning tnsnames.ora file.

Search this forum for 'tnsnames' and 'ifile' and you will see how other people have solved this problem.

Saliuzzama,

Please read the thread containing this posting http://www.orafaq.com/forum/m/130525/67467/?srch=home4#msg_130525.

The information in ALL_HOMES tells you which HOME is the current HOME. HOME_COUNTER is a count, LAST_HOME is an offset.

Make sure that your tnsnames.ora files exist in each HOME and that they point wherre you wish them to point.

David
