Hi gurus,
I am a new user of forms.I am using windows Xp Operating system. I have installed Oracle 9i and devloper 6i in my machine.I connected welly at first.Today Devloper is not connecting but I am using oracle but without host string,Its crazy man that my oracle is working but not devloper.what should I do not??

What is the problem.........????? Help me...Help !!!!!

Copy the files tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora from
oracle_9_home_directory/network/admin
into your
developer_6_home_directory/net80/admin

hi,
The Solution that you have given is not working..
If I give my host string then it shows that:
ORA:532 Invalid argument but I can still remember that all my info is right at all..

what should I do now...... HELP ........HELP !!!!!!!!!!!

Create a listener.
a listener is like a pointer to your database.
Go to oracle administration> NET8 config assistant.
Select the database to connect to, give the listener a simple name,etc..

In developer, connect by entering the listener name which you created as the HOST-STRING.

I have installed a fresh copy of devloper 6i and oracle 9i...........It is working now...imtiaz
