and how to get this output:

--------------------

Try setting the WRAP in SQLPLUS.

SET WRAP OFF

thanx,
but the string (i.e.) is like this
Commodore
VS
in the table. for your information, the column size is varchar(20). how to shift the VS to the next Commodore?, because set wrap is working but the vs is omitted..
